| summer plans |
[Apr. 12th, 2008|06:09 am] |
right, so of me of late: I'm going to get lead certified this coming Wednesday!!! for further explanation this means I'll be able to go into the wilderness and do climbing routes in which I clip myself in as I go, Bill and I are thinking of getting summer family passes to rattlesnake point, a camping and climbing site not far out of the city. $150.00 bucks to go as often or as long as we want all summer with as many people as we can shove in the car. The drops are farther with the leads cause the rope is not pulled taught and you fall to the point of the last clip. it's like a mini bungee jump.... kinda fun. In other news, physics class starts soon, that's something to do on rainy days(well more then that but it's just the one class so hopefully can still have a life around it), and a random connection to a new contractor will hopefully lead to more electrical work for the summer.... woot to things looking up. |

damn spring time blues.... I keep looking outside and thinking tomorrow I'll be able to start biking and running roller blading and skateboarding and all that outdoor stuff.... but just a bit longer.... winter's over so no winter sports.... these in between seasons kill me.... that and some actual electrical work again would be great.... in other news, there's a Darwin exhibit on at the ROM right now I would love to see, who wants to go too? |

Everyone has things they blog about. Everyone has things they don’t blog about. Challenge me out of my comfort zone by telling me something I don’t blog about, but you’d like to hear about, and I’ll write a post about it. Ask for anything: latest movie watched, last book read, political leanings, thoughts on tv, favorite type of underwear, stories I'm working on, travel, etc. Repost in your own journal so that we can all learn more about each other. |

| general updates at 5 am cause I'm up for some reason |
[Feb. 17th, 2008|05:50 am] |
looking forward all week to snowboarding today and now the forecast says rain all day... dammit... oh well, either tomorrow or another weekend now, not gonna go out in the puddle just for the sake of going. in other news, I never updated on the union progress ass I never got in... was pretty depressed about it but all I can do is keep fighting so moving along then. I managed through Bill's connections to find out where I fell in the whole process... I did great in my mechanical aptitude test and my interview but they said if I had a credit in physics that would have done it... of almost 1000 applicants I came in at number 142, the top hundred get in.... bugger... so who knows a good school to take a continuing educations physics course with? I would prefer an actual course to online cause I'm horrible for procrastinating and going to class keeps me on track better. in other news rock climbing is going awesome, still at second cup till other work picks up and dammit I should of gone boarding friday but my apartment was a pigsty, no laundry and it was the day I had to meet with the union rep, next weekend perhaps. |

| | isan - ships | ] | so as I mentioned a while back I made it too the interview portion for my electrical apprenticeship but after the interview they let me know that 1, I won't know for sure I got in until the 18th of January, and 2, that to start I have to do a two week safety course that they take people in for in 15 person groups one after the other with 2 weeks between the start of each class in order of how well we do..... which all and all means that if I made 75th of the 100 or so people they take it could be up to 6 months before I see a job.... plus my ride to the matamy homes site I've been working on is going back to school for a while so I'm out a job again for a while. so I went on the job hunt again yesterday and I will now be working at the second cup on queen just west of bathurst for a while to fill in the bills till then.... at least the new job didn't take long to find and it's something that could be fun for a while.... all in all life goes on, climbings fun... and I treated my self to a new book too Terry Pratchet's "Small Gods" so far everything I would expect from the oh so wonderful Terry. |

Your Score: The Weasel You scored 34% domestic, 36% gregarious, 64% trickster, and 58% intellect! Wild, Solitary, Intellectual Trickster: you are the Weasel!
Stealth, energy, curiousity. Paying attention to your own intuition, being able to see the true intent behind words and actions. Weasel people tend to be self-assured, observant, playful and well grounded. Weasel medicine teaches us to be analytical, and to hone a keen, sharp mind.
This test categorized you based on four different axes of personality, which were then associated with a different animal. The four axes, as well as all possible results are explained below.
Wild/Domestic: This first axis categorizes you based on how much you are drawn to the outdoors, versus how much you are drawn to civilized situations. Domesticity has many shapes and forms, and varies from the joy of dolphins leaping next to a ship to the steadfast loyalty of a family dog.
Gregarious/Solitary: This axis measures how solitary you are. If you scored high, it means that you enjoy the company of other people, while a low score indicates that you prefer a more solitary lifestyle.
Trickster/Serious: This axis measures how well you line up with conventional trickster archetypes. People who fall into this archetype have a sense of humor and an excitable, highly chaotic streak. Scoring low doesn't mean that you don't have a sense of humor; it just means that you probably don't think dynamite is very funny.
Intellectual/Emotional: This last axis determines whether you are more emotional -- acting based on feelings and instinct, or rational and intelectual -- acting more on thought than on your gut feelings.

I then did my mechanical aptitude test two weeks ago and officially got the call today that I did well enough to make it to the final interview portion.... all goes well I will be doing high rise industrial type electrical within weeks.... weeeee high voltage!!! wish me luck cause I'm a nervous wreck..... in other news, it's too wet to skateboard... not cold enough to snowboard.... between season blah's are wreaking havoc.... and my dog is getting his nuts chopped off this Friday..... that's all else of interest really right now. |

I have a new job with a low rise installation company.... I actually like the people I work with for once and I have something to do with my hands all day that I like ( wires and electricity and all make me happy) .... me with a chipping gun is a funny sight apparently.... (chipping gun being those huge loud gun things..... yeah you would have to see one.... I get up 4:30 am for work 5 days a week and don't get home till around 5 pm so I'm not social at all during the week,.... but I need to do something with my weekends soon... mostly I've been learning how to Ollie on a skateboard and other useless but cool past times... right.... that's all for now... |

so the cast is off!!! I still have to where a splint when I do most things with my arm and when I sleep, but my wrist is not nearly as seized up as I thought it would be. small wrist motions are ok and larger ones are getting less and less painfull the more I do them... I'm thinking I'll go by the stables and start at least walking the horse to start getting my balance back for now :) I took a flip on a long board the other day and everything held so I'm not worried about that... my brain needs more exercise... no electrical work right now so I'm doing warehouse work... reading how stuff works when I can so the weels keep turning a little at least..... yeah... that's about it for now. |

| I broke again |
[Jun. 29th, 2007|07:00 pm] |
| [ | Current Music |
| | Floex - lovemaking inside the watercamel | ] | so, I am in search of someone who can help me out with an image file problem.... maybe I just need to fool around a while longer but here's the deal. I broke my are a little over 2 weeks ago... the story is (at least it's better then I slipped on the sidewalk) I was doing fence jumping on a 1500 pound warmblooded mare (in other words a big female horse) in a bad mood. she dodged the fence at the last minute and I came off. usually at this point I tuck and roll but my foot got caught in the stirrup (mettle ring where feet sit) and I spun around and land under her feet at which point she kicks me stepping over me and brakes the Ulna in my left arm in half (the smaller of the two bones in the fore arm) but only the one of the two bones in my fore arm broke at least.... anyway I'm now in a cast from above my elbow to around my hand for another 2 weeks from now. pound for pound breaking the bone in the tip of my finger caused far more pain... but having a cast immobilizing my whole left arm is way more annoying.
anyway, the point is the last time I went in for x-rays they gave me a cd copy for any other doctors who wish to see the results and make assessments... they are in an auto load format on a program obviously designed for the convenience of the doctors... anyone know of someone who can help me extract just the image of my x-ray? I would really like to keep a copy for myself.... much appreciated good day and good vibes folks |

so there's these two guys camping. and a bear comes charging out of woods towards them all of a sudden. one camper starts putting on his running shoes, other camper looks at him and says "what are you doing? you can't outrun a bear!" other camper smiles and says "nope, but I can outrun you." |
