WALK NAKED IN CANADA DAY Don't forget to mark your calendars. As you may already know, it is a sin for a Muslim male to see any woman other than his wife naked. He must commit suicide if he does.
So next Saturday at 4 PM, all Canadian women are asked to walk out of their house completely naked to help weed out any neighborhood terrorists.
Circling your block for one hour is recommended for this anti-terrorist effort. All patriotic men are to position themselves in lawn chairs in front of their house to prove they are not Muslims and to demonstrate they think its okay to see nude women other than their wife and to show support for all Canadian women. Since Islam also does not approve of alcohol, a cold 6-pack at your side is further proof of your anti-Muslim sentiment. The Canadian government appreciates your efforts to root out terrorists and applauds your participation in this anti-terrorist activity. God bless Canada ! It is your patriotic duty to pass this on. If you don't send this on you are in the position of posing as a national threat. |

Climbing, like life, has moments where all the effort in the world won't grant the send you hoped for, constantly strove for, and believed with all your heart one day would come. There's sometimes a journey involved in climbing a piece of rock that carries with it a spectrum of feelings, ranging from pure optimism, excitement, and childlike giddiness to bouts of anger, confusion, doubt, and unbearable pain. Though, when all is said and done, there can and will be only one outcome: you'll either win or lose. succeeding is the easy part. Taking a bite of that final crimper and extending yourself to the top is rewarding--- a notch on the old belt worthy of bragging rights and a beer. But, as they say, one can't truly harness the per of victory without having experienced the brutality of defeat. the go hard with every last ounce of wanting left in the soul, yet at the same time embrace the very real possibility that it might not be enough in the end, is something only someone who's been there before can do. it comes from a place within that instantly reconnects them with lessons learned -- and propels them to fight like hell. what if we never lost? what if all we've ever felt were easy topouts and the effortless clipping of anchors, our bodies still without pump and completely unscathed? what if we never had a crag taken out from under us, closed down, or leveled and turned into the foundation for and office complex? what if every single day brought nothing but perfect out-comes, smiles, and euphoric feelings of gloating on air? the answer is simple; our souls would atrophy, unchallenged and weak. we'd never evolve, never learn, and never really know how incredibly satisfying it is to win. It is in this spirit that organizations such as the access fund, American Alpine Club, Southeastern climbers Coalition, Carolina Climbers Coalition, and The Climbers of Hueco Tanks Coalition were founded. they've risen from a history fraught with hard times and lopsided battles -- their once-separate voices at times going unheard, dismissed by land-owners and federal and state officials. the people within these organizations know the feeling of loosing. that's why they've chosen to form the front line we can all stand behind. no longer and climbers' cries for help whispers. no longer are we insignificant, separate bodies int the back corners of board meetings. we are united and strong and winning. thanks to their efforts... and many of yours. Know that everything happens for a reason, both in life and your climbing pursuits. take every loss as an opportunity to succeed. lick the blood from your fingers and walk away assured a lesson's been learned. as hard as it may be, crack a grin and look back at the holds you never had the chance to touch. let the moment eat at you. grow from it. draw strength from it. someday you'll be better for it. when the next challenge come (and it will some) you'll think clearer and fight harder. never stop trying. never stop believing. only after you've lost will you know what it's truly like to win. |

so I'm playing the new street fighter game ( yeah I know you're jealous) and I'm wondering, do they use the same physics engine for the jiggle of the fat man's gut as they do for the woman's boobs flying around? just thinking it looks awe full similar... maybe it's just me. |

so my work is paying me to go ice climbing in Mount Washington! from feb 5th to 9th, it's in new Hampshire near Vermont. Work supplies all the ice axes and equipment and what not, transport, and a place to stay (a hostel in town, go dorm living :P) and we get professional training on everything, and I get paid my hourly rate for a chunk of the time I'm there. we can do the summit on the final day but I've been told the ice climbing is where it's at so I'll see what I decide to do. My letter from the union comes this week, cross your fingers for me all, good day and vibes folks. |

hey all, so I'm in the south, red river gorge Kentucky to be exact having and amazing climbing trip. And I'm engaged. I hate weddings but I gotta admit the ring is gorgeous, the proposal happened in this awesome place, and the ceremony itself will just have to take place somewhere far away to keep the guest list to a minimum, no of fence but I want my sisters my mom and dad and no one else. any less would be unthinkable but any more would be too much. We are staying a Meguiles Pizza, a climbers only camp ground and and home of the best pizza ever!!! not to mention being within a few minutes of the most beautiful climbing landscape ever and walls the just flow as high as 95 feet. camp fires at night and great people reading relaxation when I'm not flying up the faces. hope all is well back home and there will be way to many pictures for you all when I get back, but internet is not free so later folks. |

woot! I passed my physics course :) put my resume in with Mayfair electric, not that I don't love working for MEC but a real career would kick ass. I'll probably keep working their one night a week or some weekends here and there for the benefits even after I get on with my apprenticeship.... got to at least stick around long enough to try ice climbing with all the gear borrowed free from work cause it counts as training in my department ..... love it.... |

R.I.P. Zak, he was really sick and I know it was his time. He was still my baby and I'm gonna miss him.... I've had a weird head cold bug of sorts since he got put down... It's just starting to clear now... I think I'm gonna spoil all my other critters a little extra now... my tortoise needs a new cave... she's outgrown hers.... I'm thinking I'll just make one for her, |

| summer plans |
[Apr. 12th, 2008|06:09 am] |
right, so of me of late: I'm going to get lead certified this coming Wednesday!!! for further explanation this means I'll be able to go into the wilderness and do climbing routes in which I clip myself in as I go, Bill and I are thinking of getting summer family passes to rattlesnake point, a camping and climbing site not far out of the city. $150.00 bucks to go as often or as long as we want all summer with as many people as we can shove in the car. The drops are farther with the leads cause the rope is not pulled taught and you fall to the point of the last clip. it's like a mini bungee jump.... kinda fun. In other news, physics class starts soon, that's something to do on rainy days(well more then that but it's just the one class so hopefully can still have a life around it), and a random connection to a new contractor will hopefully lead to more electrical work for the summer.... woot to things looking up. |

damn spring time blues.... I keep looking outside and thinking tomorrow I'll be able to start biking and running roller blading and skateboarding and all that outdoor stuff.... but just a bit longer.... winter's over so no winter sports.... these in between seasons kill me.... that and some actual electrical work again would be great.... in other news, there's a Darwin exhibit on at the ROM right now I would love to see, who wants to go too? |

Everyone has things they blog about. Everyone has things they don’t blog about. Challenge me out of my comfort zone by telling me something I don’t blog about, but you’d like to hear about, and I’ll write a post about it. Ask for anything: latest movie watched, last book read, political leanings, thoughts on tv, favorite type of underwear, stories I'm working on, travel, etc. Repost in your own journal so that we can all learn more about each other. |
